Office: The starting point

Okay, this is our starting point! My home office is South facing so gets plenty of light and overlooks our garden which is full of lovely trees. The carpet is a woven sisal so is really hard wearing, making it perfect for a room which will be used a lot, especially around the desk chair area.

The first image shows how the room looked on the house listing; neutral, plain and with a textured ceiling. When we moved in I added my old desk into the space to work from but knew that storage would be an essential part of the new design. I knew I wanted the space to feel warm and cosy as I'll spend a lot of time in here, I also didn't want anything boring...
